What is RiskSMART?

RiskSMART is an innovative fast-track development application program that started as a pilot project in 2005 by Brisbane City Council.

Due to its success and efficiency, this program extended to Logan City Council and City of Gold Coast. Through RiskSMART, eligible projects are assessed on Councils’ behalf by an accredited RiskSMART consultant helping to streamline the process and cut approval wait times.

Consult Planning is an experienced RiskSMART accredited consultancy with our Director being one of the first six consultants to hold Brisbane City Council RiskSMART accreditation since 2005. We regularly assess eligible development applications through the RiskSMART programs offered by Brisbane City Council and Logan City Council (accredited since 2013). We also prepare and submit town planning applications with City of Gold Coast’s non-accredited RiskSMART program.

How it works

Our accredited planner will prepare your RiskSMART development application along with a recommendation (including draft conditions) and submit this directly to council where a town planner from council will review the consultant’s recommendations and potentially issue the development approval within 10 business days.
